DECORATING THE THANKSGIVING DINNER TABLE

When planning the Thanksgiving dinner menu, don't overlook the table decorations. Thanksgiving is a great occasion to incorporate a fall color palette of burnt orange, chocolate brown, deep yellow, and cranberry red into a home. Whether an outdoor harvest or a formal dinner, creating that festive thanksgiving look is all about decorating with the right accessories.

  • Fall leaves, ivy, and dried branches
  • Miniature pumpkins and gourdes, indian corn
  • Dried cranberries, white grapes, mini artichokes, green pears, lemons, red apples, pine cones, acorns, walnuts, and herbs like rosemary
  • Cornucopia basket from an arts and crafts store filled with fruits
  • Theme place cards in the shape of a turkey or pumpkin
  • Ribbons, raffia, beads, and burlap for unique napkin rings and ties
  • Fine crystal glassware and polished silver platters
  • White, cream or fall-colored table linens
  • Pumpkin, spice, apple or citrus-scented or decorative candles
  • Topiaries, potted plants, and arrangements of cranberry, ivy, pomegranate, dried leaves, wheat, hay or live floral cuttings displayed in bowls and urns

Also, remember to decorate mantels, shelves and tabletops along with placing themed accents in your kitchen and guest bathrooms. Adding real or faux accessories to the dinner table and throughout the home will add warmth and style to any Thanksgiving meal.
