UPDATE YOUR KITCHEN ON A BUDGET!

The kitchen is the heart of any home. It is the room where everyone always seems to congregate.

With the major holiday season fast approaching, now is a great time to refresh your kitchen, get it “party-ready” and organized for the holiday rush. Updated an outdated kitchen goes a long way and doesn’t have to be a budget busting extravaganza!

Start making updates with these few tips!

Upgrade Your Appliances: If you have the money, it’s often a good idea to invest it into new appliances. If not, consider putting a new panel over outdated appliances. Or how about just the kitchen sink? Replacing a dated faucet does wonders for overall style.

Counter Tops: The whole kitchen will get a lift if you fit the island with a new marble or granite top. It’s far less expensive than refurbishing all the countertops and adds a very high-end element to the kitchen.

Cabinets: Repaint or refinish the existing cabinets or just rip out your existing cabinetry and try open shelving.

Walls: Splash of Color- paint one or more walls in a seasonal color. Benjamin Moore’s Toasted Pecan #1209 or Burnt Sienna #1196 or Sherwin William’s Library Pewter SW0038  Studio Blue-Green SW0047, are excellent choices.

Buttler’s Pantry: Convert your little used desk area into a butler’s pantry. Replace the wood panels of cabinets with glass panels, add lighting and glass shelves to store glasses and decorative bottles. Line desk drawers with felt to hold bar essentials and serving pieces. Add a tension rod with shirred fabric to close off the knee space of the desk. Store a rolling cart in this hidden area.

Floral Arrangements: Use flowers to add seasonal flair to any table. Create a mini-container garden by grouping abundant amounts of mini-annuals and petite ivy, or design an arrangement with faux vegetables, dried pods, leaves and vines.

Give your kitchen a seasonal boost! You’ll be more than ready for entertaining family and friends during the holidays.
