SHADES OF STYLE: SONIA RYKIEL SPRING 2012

It is always fun to use the fashion from the runways of New York City to inspire us in Connecticut. The spring 2012 collection of fashion designer Sonia Rykel was exceptionally inspiring. With the color of the year set for tangerine tango, 2012 is shaping up to feel and look very bright, warm, and inviting.

In her spring collection, you will see flowy dresses in bright, sunny hues and painterly florals, simple yet eye-catching piece with its bursts of ruby, pink, deep purple, orange and yellow set against a soft peachy hue. This beautiful melange of springtime colors can easily be applied to our homes as well. Bring cheer to your living area or your kitchen with colorful artworks or bright vases and ceramics -- yellow and orange dishes are an easy way to immediately brighten up a kitchen -- or keep these lively colors in mind as wall colors for the upcoming spring.
